Sounds:
Sound files are copied into Kanji Crammer's Sounds Library. This is where you will find them so that
you can back them up.
Files in the top level of the Sounds Library are in a scratch area. This means
that they will be replaced if a new file with the same name gets put there. This will happen, for example,
if you drag a new audio file onto a card or record a voice onto a card which already has an audio file
in the scratch area. This also assumes you have permission to write to the sounds library.
If a card has more than one sound file attached to it, all but one of the files
are in danger of being deleted if you choose the "Organize this deck's sounds" or the "Export unconverted"
menu item. You can tell if a card has more than one sound if there is a number to the right of the sound
icon. See the Main Screen Reference. There are a number of ways of looking at this
problem:
1) This is not a problem. I only need one file for each card.
2) This is not a problem.
I manually organize my files.
3) This is a problem. Every utterance, even from the same speaker needs
to be kept.
The solution is to set different speakers for each card which will have more than one audio file even
though they might be the same speaker.
You will have to manually swap one set of sounds out of the
sounds library then choose "Change sounds speaker" in the Speaker menu in order to change the remaining
sounds. Then you can swap the original sounds back.
